Story Elements Map
From the beginning of the year, we have used "Story Elements Map" graphic organizers to detail the literary elements of our classroom literature selections. In your individual Writers' Workshop story development you have also been asked to consider the same elements of Character, Setting, Plot, Conflict & Resolution, and Theme.
As you read your Newbery book, complete a Story Elements Map that includes all main characters, all main settings, all main plot events, and all major conflicts/resolutions in the story. All entries must include the page reference where you found "evidence in the text". Your story map may be hand written or typed in any appropriate format.
You must also indicate what you feel is the overall "theme" of the book : good vs. evil, love story, redemption, etc.
